As a Cafe Manager at Cognito Café, you’ll play a key role in shaping our customer experience from day one, delivering great coffee, great service, and creating a space people want to return to.

38 - 42 hours per week. Daytime Hours including weekends but every evening off.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome every guest with a warm, genuine approach and provide outstanding customer service
• Take accurate orders and confidently use the till/POS system
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, teas, and fresh food to a consistent standard
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment with care and precision
• Maintain a clean, organised, and inviting workspace at all times
• Restock supplies and support smooth day-to-day operations
• Work closely with the team to create a positive and supportive environment
• Stay calm and efficient during busy periods while maintaining high standards
• Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and company procedures
• Cash Handling
• Managing Staff, responsible for a small team
• Ordering and stock control

Essential:

• A positive, friendly personality with a genuine love for customer service
• Strong communication and people skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, hands-on attitude
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (including weekends)
• Reliability and strong work ethic
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting
• Barista experience or an interest in specialty coffee
• A passion for food, coffee, and creating great guest experiences

Job Types: Full-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £27,500.00 per year
