Tide Café is a busy, well-established café in Townsville, known for quality food, great coffee and exceptional customer service.

We're looking for an experienced, energetic and hands-on Café Manager with strong barista skills to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our busy venue.

This is not an office-based management role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example, making great coffee, supporting their team and ensuring every customer receives a great experience.

About the Role

As Café Manager, you'll play an active role in daily service while taking responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the café.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading from the floor and actively participating in daily service
• Preparing high-quality coffee and supporting the barista team during busy periods
• Managing, motivating and supporting our front-of-house team
• Ensuring consistently high standards of customer service and coffee quality
• Preparing staff rosters and managing labour costs
• Training, mentoring and developing team members
• Overseeing stock control, ordering and minimising wastage
• Working closely with the kitchen team to maintain efficient service
• Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety
• Monitoring daily operations and identifying opportunities for improvement

About You

We're looking for a natural leader who thrives in a busy hospitality environment.

Essential requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Café Manager or in a comparable hospitality management role
• A minimum of 2 years' hands-on barista experience in a busy café environment
• Confidence preparing high-quality espresso coffee in a high-volume setting
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience with rostering, labour management and stock control
• The ability to remain organised and calm during busy service periods
• A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
• A genuine passion for hospitality, food and coffee

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
