Café Service Worker

Job Summary

Aroma Coffeehouse is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Café Service Worker to support daily coffeehouse operations and provide a welcoming experience for guests. This role involves taking orders, assisting with coffee and food service, maintaining clean work areas, restocking supplies, and working collaboratively with the café team to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with preparing and serving coffee, tea, espresso-based drinks, and other café beverages.
• Help prepare and serve pastries, snacks, sandwiches, and other café menu items as needed.
• Check orders for accuracy and ensure items are presented properly.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and beverage options.
• Help customers with menu selections and communicate special requests to the appropriate team members.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer payments as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized counters, tables, service stations, and work areas.
• Clear tables and help maintain a neat, comfortable, and welcoming café environment.
• Restock coffee, ingredients, cups, lids, napkins, utensils, and other café supplies.
• Assist with setting up service stations and preparing the café for daily operations.
• Clean and maintain coffee equipment, utensils, and service tools according to established procedures.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Communicate customer concerns, supply shortages, and equipment issues to supervisors.
• Support baristas and other team members during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general café duties.
• Handle food, beverages, equipment, and supplies carefully and responsibly.
• Perform other café service and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous coffeehouse, café, restaurant, food service, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn beverage preparation and café service procedures.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety practices.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
