Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and enthusiastic Café Shift Lead to join our team!

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment and is comfortable taking on additional responsibilities.

The ideal candidate leads by example, takes initiative, and can confidently oversee daily café operations when ownership is not present.

We’re looking for someone who can be both a team player and a leader, helping ensure our café runs smoothly while maintaining the quality and hospitality our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations and lead the team during assigned shifts.
• Take charge of the café in the owner’s absence, making routine operational decisions and resolving issues as needed.
• Delegate tasks and ensure employees remain productive, organized, and focused.
• Prepare espresso beverages, specialty coffees, smoothies, and menu items alongside the team.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and customer service.
• Assist with training new employees and supporting existing team members.
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly.
• Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and communicate ordering needs.
• Handle customer questions and concerns professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with ownership regarding daily operations and staff performance.
• Help create a positive, supportive, and efficient team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, or food service experience required.
• Prior shift lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to lead a small team and make decisions independently.
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to jump in and assist wherever needed.
• Must have availability Monday through Saturday, including Saturdays.

*Position starts at 15.50 and grows with the business as your experience grows.
