Cafe Steward & Cleaner

JJob Summary

We are looking for a reliable, fast-moving, and hardworking Cafe Steward to join our team. In this dedicated sanitation role, you will be the engine that keeps our venue immaculate and running smoothly. You will take full charge of the dishwashing station, complete cafe cleanliness, and restroom sanitation to ensure a hygienic environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Dishwashing & Stewarding: Wash, sanitize, and neatly organize all plates, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using proper sanitation methods.
• Cafe Cleanliness: Maintain a high standard of hygiene across the dining floor by sweeping, mopping, dusting, clearing trash bins, and keeping public areas spotless.
• Restroom Sanitation: Conduct detailed, daily deep-cleaning and sanitizing of customer and staff toilets, ensuring they remain immaculate and fully stocked.
• Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain deep cleanliness in the kitchen back-of-house by scrubbing floors, washing drainage traps, and clearing kitchen waste bins throughout the day.
• Team Operations: Work efficiently to ensure a continuous supply of clean dishes and tools for the kitchen and service crew during peak hours.
• Stock & Storage: Help receive supplier deliveries of cleaning chemical products, check inventory, and organize stewarding items neatly into the storage room.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of continuous experience as a dishwasher, cleaner, or steward in a cafe, restaurant, or hotel environment.
• Teamwork Skills: Strong ability to take direction from management and collaborate smoothly with kitchen and floor crew members.
• Attitude: Punctual, responsible, proactive, organized, fast, and completely comfortable taking ownership of heavy cleaning and dishwashing duties.
• Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certificate (Sijil Pengendali Makanan) and typhoid vaccination are mandatory.
• Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods, handle wet cleaning environments, and lift heavy stock boxes or kitchen pots.
• Availability: Must be able to work weekends, public holidays, and early morning opening shifts.
