Cafe Steward

About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, reliable Café Steward to join our crew onboard the Micat ferry, operating between the Port of Brisbane and Moreton Island.
You'll be part of the team that keeps our onboard café running smoothly — serving great coffee, snacks, and smiles while helping to make every journey a great experience for our passengers.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys fast-paced customer service, working on the water, and being part of a close-knit team.
The role offers up to 30+ hours per week, with shifts available across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and serving food and beverages in our onboard café
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of café and passenger areas
• Operating the POS system and handling cash/card transactions
• Assisting passengers and crew as needed during voyages and on embarking/disembarking
• Supporting general onboard duties and maintaining safety standards

About You

You'll bring a great attitude, teamwork, and strong customer service focus.

We're looking for someone with:

• Minimum 6 months of café, barista, or hospitality experience

• A friendly and professional approach with customers

• Strong attention to detail and a hands-on work ethic

• Ability to work safely in a marine environment and handle physical demands of ferry operations

• Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends and public holidays)

• Valid Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate visa)

• Basic understanding of marine or vessel operations is an advantage (not essential – training provided)

• Current food safety/hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification preferred
