About the role

To provide visitors with an exceptional food & beverage experience while sharing our passion for Antarctica to ensure they leave us as Ambassadors.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome visitors warmly and engage with them in a polite and friendly manner
• Anticipate visitors' needs and be available to offer assistance
• Keep public areas, tables and service areas clean and tidy
• Thank and farewell visitors with sincerity
• Respond to all correspondence including telephone and email inquiries in a professional, accurate and timely manner
• Identify and maximise upselling opportunities
• Develop excellent working relationships with sales agents and tour leaders
• Take visitors' food and beverage orders, upsell where possible and ensure food and beverages are presented excellently
• Maintain the café area to the highest standard including cleaning equipment, clearing tables and dishes
• Ensure food stocks are maintained at adequate levels
• Uphold the highest hygiene practice in food preparation and kitchen areas
• Appropriately handle and control foodstuffs and stores
• Maintain awareness of safe food handling, preparation, serving and storage regulations and regularly check that these standards are being adhered to
• Ensure all work environments and vehicles are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
• Ensure that all rubbish is collected, disposed of appropriately and recycled accordingly

About you

• Awareness of safe food handling, preparation, serving and storage regulations including personal hygiene
• Compliance with current industry standards and best practice in health and safety
