Cafe Worker

Overview

Join our Mediterranean café team as a dedicated full or part time Worker! We love enthusiasm and customer-focused attitude will create a welcoming environment for all guests. In this role, you’ll be the heart of our café operations, delivering exceptional service while serving a variety of different baklavas, Turkish delights (Lokum), ice creams, along with beverages. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure smooth daily operations, from cash handling to food safety compliance. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service, learn a new culture of the Mediterranean, learn how to make new beverage preparation within a dynamic team setting where focus on hospitality as a team and to our customers.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service to enhance their café experience
• Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages including Turkish coffee, variety of teas, and flavored matchas.
• Handle retail sales transactions accurately using Square system
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning counters, equipment, tables, and food preparation surfaces in accordance with food safety standards
• Assist in food handling and preparation tasks, ensuring all items meet quality standards and food safety regulations
• Manage cash register operations efficiently while processing payments and giving correct change
• Support beverage service by refilling supplies, restocking ingredients, and ensuring timely delivery of drinks to customers
• Follow proper food safety protocols during food handling and preparation to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests
• Demonstrate effective time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly while maintaining high service standards

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or café environments is highly desirable; barista experience is a plus
• Familiarity with square
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests and be able to explain our products
• Basic math skills for cash handling, making change accurately, and managing sales totals
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience in beverage preparation or coffee industry roles is advantageous but not required; training will be provided
