Location: Nexus MAT Headquarters, Enterprise Works, 300 Meadowhall Way, Sheffield, S9 1EA

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 6:30-14:30

Start Date: ASAP or upon notice

Salary: £14.90 inclusive of holiday pay

Make a Real Difference as a Café and Kitchen Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic and reliable individual with experience in a café, hospitality or catering environment? We are looking for a committed Café and Kitchen Assistant to support our Sheffield-based central head office and school site.

Whether you're preparing food, serving customers, supporting the kitchen team, or helping deliver a welcoming café experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role within a busy and supportive environment. Previous café experience would be highly desirable, and for those looking to develop their skills further, we are pleased to offer barista training as part of our CPD programme.

The Role

As a Café and Kitchen Assistant, you will:

• Provide excellent customer service to staff, visitors and customers using our on-site café.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, snacks and light meals.
• Oversee high standards of food hygiene, health and safety across both the café and kitchen areas.
• Wash up and keep kitchen equipment and work surfaces clean and well maintained.
• Wash up and ensure equipment, work surfaces and dining areas are clean, tidy and well maintained.
• Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and wider kitchen team to deliver a positive food service
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive site culture where every pupil, colleague and visitor is valued

As part of the café role, you'll also have access to free barista training as part of our CPD offer.

• Has experience working in a café, hospitality, catering or customer service environment
• Enjoys providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment.
• Understands the importance of food hygiene and safety standards
• Can work well as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues
• Shows flexibility, initiative and good communication skills
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
