cafeteria operator

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the cafeteria.
• Prepare and serve food, snacks, beverages, tea, and coffee as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the cafeteria, kitchen, equipment, and dining area.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and preparation according to hygiene standards.
• Monitor food and beverage stock and inform management when replenishment is required.
• Maintain proper portion control and minimize food wastage.
• Handle customer orders and provide friendly and efficient service.
• Operate the cash register/POS system and handle daily cash transactions, if applicable.
• Check the quality and freshness of food items before serving.
• Coordinate with suppliers for required food and consumable items, when needed.
• Follow company health, safety, and food hygiene procedures.
• Ensure all cafeteria equipment is used safely and kept in good condition.
• Maintain daily records of sales, stock, and expenses as required.
• Perform other cafeteria-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cafeteria, restaurant, food service, or catering operations is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene practices.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily cafeteria operations.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling and POS systems is an advantage.
• Good attitude, punctuality, and cleanliness are essential.
