Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Cake Decorator Assistant Manager based in Albany, NY. The Assistant Manager will support the cake decorating team by overseeing daily operations, coordinating schedules, and ensuring the quality of decorated products. Responsibilities include designing, decorating, and finishing cakes to meet customer specifications, maintaining inventory for decorating supplies, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The role requires collaboration with staff to achieve customer satisfaction and effective execution of orders, as well as providing leadership and support in training and mentoring team members.

Qualifications

• Proven skills in cake decorating, including piping, and creating customized designs.
• Leadership and organizational skills, including team management and scheduling tasks effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact with clients and ensure satisfaction.
• Experience with inventory management, supply ordering, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
• Attention to detail and creativity in creating visually appealing and high-quality designs.
• Prior experience in a bakery or similar setting is preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Food safety knowledge and certification is an advantage.
