About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented fresher to join our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified calibration laboratory in Bhopal. The selected candidate will be trained to perform calibration, verification, documentation, and quality-compliance activities for electrical and mechanical measuring instruments. Calibration engineers are responsible for ensuring that instruments remain accurate, traceable, and fit for use in accordance with approved procedures, SOPs, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and verification of electrical and mechanical instruments under the guidance of senior calibration engineers.
• Handle instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, energy meters, pressure gauges, vernier calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, weighing balances, thermometers, and other related equipment.
• Carry out calibration activities strictly as per approved laboratory procedures, work instructions, and applicable national/international standards.
• Record raw observations accurately and prepare calibration reports, certificates, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain calibration records, instrument master lists, calibration due dates, labels, traceability records, and equipment history.
• Identify out-of-tolerance instruments and report deviations, non-conformities, or abnormal observations to the concerned authority.
• Ensure proper handling, cleaning, storage, and preventive maintenance of calibration equipment and reference standards.
• Support internal audits, external audits, customer audits, and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance activities.
• Coordinate with the quality team, technical team, and customers for calibration scheduling, sample receipt, and report delivery.
• Participate in training programs related to calibration techniques, measurement uncertainty, quality systems, and laboratory safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer data, technical records, and laboratory documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• Freshers with strong interest in calibration, metrology, instrumentation, and quality systems are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of engineering measurements, instruments, units, and technical documentation will be an advantage.

Skills Required

• Good analytical and observation skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Basic computer knowledge, especially MS Excel, Word, and documentation systems.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn calibration procedures, ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements, and laboratory quality practices.
• Ability to work in a team and follow standard operating procedures.
• Positive attitude, discipline, and commitment to quality.
