CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: DIGITAL SECURITY EXPERT

Dignity Humanitarian NGO , within the framework of the Human Rights Defenders Protection Initiative , funded by the Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative (ESI), announces a call for applications for a Digital Security Expert .

Scope of Work

As part of the project, a joint practical training session will be organized for five (5) human rights defenders temporarily relocated to Armenia , with the aim of strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in digital security.

The training will address the most relevant digital security risks faced by human rights defenders in the course of their work, as well as practical measures to prevent and mitigate these risks.

The Training Will Cover, In Particular, The Following Topics

• Use of secure communication tools and methods;
• Secure password creation and management;
• Implementation of two-factor authentication (2FA);
• Identification and prevention of phishing emails, messages, and malicious links;
• Security of social media accounts and other online accounts;
• Essential security measures for computers and mobile devices;
• Protection of personal and professional data;
• Identification and prevention of cyber threats and social engineering risks;
• Other digital security risks of particular relevance to human rights defenders.

Following the joint training, an individual digital device security assessment will be conducted for each participant, only with their informed and voluntary consent .

Based on the assessment results, each participant will receive tailored practical recommendations aimed at mitigating identified risks and potential vulnerabilities and improving their overall digital security.

Confidentiality and Data Protection Requirements

Individual device security assessments must be conducted exclusively with the participant’s informed and voluntary consent .

During the assessment, the expert must not request, access, or retain participants’ passwords, private correspondence, personal files, or other sensitive data not required for the purposes of the assessment.

The expert is required to maintain the confidentiality of all information accessed in the course of the assignment and to use such information exclusively for the purpose of delivering the services.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have professional knowledge in digital security and at least three (3) years of relevant practical experience .

Experience in providing digital security support to human rights defenders, journalists, civil society organizations, or individuals working in other high-risk environments will be considered an asset.
