What they need
About Geotrek Vans
We design and hand-build premium off-grid camper vans that turn “someday” into a road trip this weekend, selling direct so adventure isn't taxed by dealer markups. We believe great products come from real-world testing and honest craftsmanship — and whether you're behind the build or behind the scenes, everyone here plays a part in getting people out the door and onto the road.
The Role
We're looking for a Van Technician to join our production line and own a critical stage of how every Geotrek van gets built — from early-stage prep and coating, through cabinetry and wall panel installation, power systems, plumbing, appliance installs, and accessory installs. Rather than building one van start to finish, you'll master your station, hit quality and pace targets, and hand off a job well done to the next builder in line — and over time, cross-train across stations as your skills grow. This role rewards consistency, precision, and teamwork over solo heroics.
What You'll Do
● Execute your assigned station's tasks to established quality and pace standards
● Follow standardized work instructions and quality checkpoints for your station
● Communicate clearly with the builders before and after you on the line to keep the flow moving
● Catch and flag defects or issues before they move further down the line
● Contribute ideas for improving your station as part of our continuous-improvement culture
● Cross-train across stations on the line — from prep and coating through final installs — as your skills grow
● Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential function of this job
What You Bring
● Strong mechanical know-how and confidence with hand and power tools
● The discipline to follow standardized processes and quality checks precisely and consistently
● Comfort with focused, detail-oriented work at a steady production pace
● Strong communication and teamwork skills — the line only works if the handoffs do
● A genuine interest in craftsmanship, quality, and outdoor adventure
● Valid driver's license, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Boulder, CO 80301
● Must be able to pass a background check
● Experience in spray/coatings, sheet metal, cabinetry/carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or general construction is a plus, but not required
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role, consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act.
This is an active, hands-on role on our production floor — expect standing and moving for most of the shift, regular low-posture work (stooping, kneeling, crouching) to access lower cabinets, wiring, or under-vehicle areas, some work at heights on van rooftops or ladders, and frequent reaching and precise hand use at your station. Lifting and carrying ranges from about 10–25 lbs regularly, with some loads up to 50 lbs depending on station. The pace is steady and sometimes line-paced, with sustained attention needed to catch defects and follow standardized work instructions. You'll work mostly indoors in a shared shop environment with moderate noise, a seasonally wide temperature range, and exposure to tools, coatings, and shop materials — safety glasses are required at all times, with additional PPE (up to and including respirators or safety harnesses) depending on your station, consistent with OSHA general industry and manufacturing safety standards.
Pay & Benefits
Hiring Range: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, with compensation review considered twice a year.
Benefits: 401(k) with 4% match; health insurance reimbursement program; paid vacation and sick time; tools provided; on-the-job training with opportunities for advancement
Schedule: Full-time, 4-day workweek (4x10s) with opportunity for overtime, on-site at Geotrek HQ, Boulder, CO
