Campus Security Officer

Job Overview

We are looking for responsible, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our campus security team. As a Campus Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for Job Corps students, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and entrances.
• Help ensure students, staff, and visitors follow campus safety and security procedures.
• Monitor security cameras and report unusual or suspicious activity.
• Assist with controlling access to campus buildings and restricted areas.
• Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and safety concerns.
• Complete clear and accurate reports about incidents or unusual activity.
• Help maintain a safe and positive environment for students and staff.
• Use good communication and conflict de-escalation skills when dealing with disagreements or disturbances.
• Work with supervisors, staff, and emergency personnel when additional assistance is needed.
• Assist with campus safety activities, drills, and emergency procedures.
• Help with physical tasks such as moving equipment or assisting during campus events when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, depending on program requirements.
• Previous security, military, law enforcement, or public safety experience is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to learn security procedures, emergency response, and campus policies.
• Ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in stressful situations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to follow instructions.
• Ability to walk and patrol the campus for extended periods.
• Ability to perform occasional lifting and other physical duties.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to complete written reports.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow campus security policies.

Pay: $17.75 per hour
