Campus Security Manager

Houston Christian (HC) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Campus Security Manager to begin immediately. The Security Manager collaborates with other security and maintenance employees to create a safe environment for students, visitors, and employees, by protecting and securing the campus, preventing or deterring crime, enforcing the campus security plan, and enforcing state and local laws**,** balancing technical security expertise with the interpersonal skills needed in a close-knit academic community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4+ years experience working in a similar position for a large complex employer, military and/or law enforcement experience. Prefer a commissioned law enforcement officer.
• Qualified to become a Level 3 Commissioned Guard.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must have or be capable of obtaining certifications:
• ICS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System
• ICS-200.C: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
• IS-700.B: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
• IS-703.B: NIMS Resource Management
• IS-362.A: Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools
• IS-917: Active Shooter Leadership
• NCTSN: Psychological First Aid (PFA)
• IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction
• Must be organized; ability to set priorities; meet deadlines and multi-task.
• Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy and have excellent human relation skills, dealing with a wide variety of people.
• Strongly prefer successful experience in supervision or safety planning, and work in a fluid, dynamic, environment.
• Must have or be able to attain knowledge of local, state and federal fire and OSHA codes and ADA recommendations.
• Proficient in basic technology applications (i.e. Word, Excel). Google Apps knowledge is beneficial (i.e. Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively utilizing interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with all school constituents.
• Flexibility and ability to cope with several tasks simultaneously is required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in which only limited standardization exists. “Think on your feet.”

This position will be subject to background checks, physicals and random drug screenings and may be subject to psychological testing for firearm safety.

Qualified candidates must have security and safety experience and expertise and be able to build rapport with students, visitors and employees while maintaining professionalism.This position requires a strong attention to detail, a high regard for confidentiality and diplomacy, and a strong self-motivation. Occasional after school, evening or weekend hours will be necessary.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
