Campus Security Officer

Position Summary

The Campus Security Guard is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus property. Duties include foot and vehicle patrols, responding to incidents, completing written accident reports, issuing parking tickets, directing traffic, and assisting with special events. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills and the ability to work independently and professionally.

Job Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, grounds, and off-campus extension sites on foot and in a vehicle.
• Help protect students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus property.
• Respond to incidents and complete written accident reports.
• Issue parking tickets and enforce campus parking regulations.
• Direct traffic during peak periods and special events.
• Provide assistance and courteous customer service to the campus community.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required within 60 days of employment.
• CPR/First Responder Certification required or willingness to obtain certification (provided by employer)
• Six months of security or law enforcement experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk, stand, and move for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and operate a motor vehicle.

Work Schedule

*****Schedules include weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed.*****

Available shifts include:

• Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
• Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Holiday coverage and additional shifts may be required.

Pay: $12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 per week
