Role Purpose

ACE Technologies is seeking an experienced Commissioning and Qualification leader to lead pharmaceutical projects, develop engineers and expand collaboration between our C&Q and Automation teams.

This role will help build C&Q delivery capability at facilities where ACE already provides automation services, while supporting our broader life sciences business. You will combine technical judgment, team leadership and client relationship management to take projects from scope development through execution and turnover.

Core Responsibilities

Lead Project Delivery

• Oversee assigned C&Q projects and programs, with responsibility for scope, staffing, schedules, budgets and delivery quality. Establish practical execution plans and work with project leads to resolve technical issues, manage changes and keep client commitments achievable.
• Provide technical direction across planning, document development, field execution, qualification and turnover for pharmaceutical facilities, utilities and manufacturing equipment.

Connect C&Q and Automation

• Partner with ACE’s Automation leaders to identify where coordinated automation and C&Q support can improve project delivery. Align responsibilities, testing activities and handoffs between teams, and help engineers develop a stronger understanding of both disciplines.

Develop People

• Lead and mentor project managers, technical leads and engineers. Establish clear responsibilities, meaningful assignments and practical training plans. Build leadership depth so teams can maintain continuity as projects grow and responsibilities change.
• Support recruiting by defining role requirements, evaluating candidates and planning how new employees will be trained and integrated into project teams.

Build Client Relationships

• Serve as a senior contact for assigned clients. Understand their priorities, communicate progress and risks, and resolve delivery concerns.
• Develop proposals, estimates and staffing plans with ACE’s technical and operations leaders. Identify opportunities to expand services while ensuring commitments are supported by the team’s capabilities and available resources.

Provide Clear Operational Oversight

• Maintain current staffing forecasts, project information and delivery metrics in ACE’s shared systems. Give leadership a clear view of progress, upcoming needs, financial performance and risks requiring action.
• Coordinate subcontractor responsibilities and performance where applicable.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Typically 10 or more years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology C&Q experience, including substantial responsibility for leading teams and delivering complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or a significant program, including staffing, budgets, schedules and client expectations.
• Practical experience with pharmaceutical equipment, utilities and facility startup, qualification and turnover.
• Experience working with Automation, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams in regulated manufacturing environments.
• The ability to develop estimates and proposals, assess resource requirements and manage changes during execution.
• A record of developing engineers and building effective project leadership.
• Clear communication, sound judgment and a collaborative approach to solving problems.

Preferred Experience

• Experience delivering projects through a consulting or engineering services organization is valuable.
• Familiarity with automation platforms such as DeltaV or Rockwell is a plus.
