C&Q (Process Development) Engineer

The Opportunity

A growing life sciences engineering organisation is seeking a C&Q (Process Development) Engineer to support pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

This is a specialist role focused on process development, thermal mapping, equipment qualification and validation activities within GMP-regulated manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and technical teams to optimise and qualify critical process systems including sterilisation and washing equipment.

The position offers significant exposure to advanced pharmaceutical technologies, customer-facing project work and excellent long-term career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thermal mapping and process development activities
• Support commissioning, qualification and validation projects
• Execute cycle development and performance qualification studies
• Support autoclave, washer and process equipment qualification activities
• Analyse validation data and produce technical reports
• Troubleshoot process performance issues and implement improvements
• Execute validation protocols and prepare qualification documentation
• Perform thermocouple calibration and verification activities
• Support equipment qualification lifecycle activities
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal technical specialists
• Participate in customer meetings and technical presentations
• Ensure work is completed in line with GMP requirements and quality standards
• Support wider commissioning and qualification activities where required

Essential Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Validation, Science or a related technical discipline
• Experience within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environments
• Understanding of equipment qualification and validation activities
• Strong technical writing and report writing skills
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, drawings and specifications
• Experience working within GMP environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Full driving licence
• Willingness to travel extensively and spend extended periods on customer sites
