Canine Care Associate

Overview:

Join our daycare and boarding team at Pampered Puppies as a Canine Care Associate, where your love for dogs and eye for their body language keeps our playrooms safe, fun, and full of tail wags. In this role, you'll supervise group play, provide hands-on care throughout the day, and build real relationships with the dogs and families who trust us with their care. Your attentiveness, energy, and reliability help make every stay a great one, for the dogs and their owners alike.

Responsibilities:

• Supervising groups of up to 20 dogs in our indoor playrooms, watching for early signs of stress, overstimulation, or conflict
• Leading and participating in group play and enrichment activities throughout the day
• Feeding, administering medication as directed, and monitoring water and bathroom breaks for boarding and daycare dogs
• Cleaning and sanitizing playrooms, bedding, bowls, and common areas throughout the day
• Communicating clearly with teammates and management about any behavior, health, or safety concerns
• Greeting clients and their dogs during drop-off and pick-up

Qualifications:

• Real experience with dogs - this can come from a variety of backgrounds: dog ownership, training or competing, dog sitting or walking, working at shelters or adoption agencies, or a previous kennel or daycare job.
• Animal supervision skills - you should be comfortable supervising a group of dogs at once, reading dog body language, and staying calm and attentive during a busy, active shift. This is hands-on animal care, not passive supervision.
• Physical stamina - this is an active, hands-on role. You'll be on your feet leading group play and cleaning playrooms throughout your shift.
• Schedule flexibility - our daycare and boarding playrooms are open from 8am to 6pm. Boarding dogs also use the playrooms during extended hours, 6:30 to 8am and 6 to 9:30pm, before settling into private crates for the night; these shifts involve a smaller group, typically 5 to 8 dogs. You should be comfortable with an occasional early morning or evening shift (1 to 2 days per week) and at least one 6-hour shift over the weekend.
• Reliability - you must be dependable and able to demonstrate good performance and attendance in past jobs.
