What they need

At the Company, we have at least a four-dimensional focus on access, cost, quality, and consistency, where we strive to provide our customers with access to quality products at competitive prices, which help to enhance their lives. You will have an opportunity to engage your impressive talents to make positive contributions within the Company, the lives of our customers, and the explosive legal cannabis industry. We have a strong, employee-centered culture built by inspiring people like yourself. And we are committed to sustaining a business environment that is respectful, welcoming, equitable, and supportive of a broad range of people.

Under the supervision of the Cultivation Manager or department lead, the Cultivation Technician is responsible for performing manual labor to support the growth and maintenance of medicinal cannabis plants. This includes tasks such as watering, feeding, pruning, cloning, cleaning, and transplanting.

Attention to detail is essential in this role, as is the ability to follow strict protocols within a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented setting and demonstrate reliability, consistency, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in harvesting plant material on schedule, including drying and de-stemming.
  • Tend to plants by watering, repotting, training, and moving plant material and green waste.
  • Monitor plant health and report any conditions that may affect growth or development.
  • Perform sanitation and decontamination tasks, including propagation, transplantation, trimming, and harvesting, with a focus on productivity and yield optimization.
  • Scout for pests and other threats, identifying issues early to prevent crop damage.
  • Wash, sanitize, and inspect all tools and equipment to ensure they are free from pests, viruses, and diseases.
  • Accurately label plants and maintain consistent inventory records.
  • Complete all required documentation with accurate and timely information.
  • Support various cultivation tasks as needed, including assisting other departments (e.g., packaging), moving supplies, and working at alternate locations.
  • Continue learning about cannabis strains, products, and industry trends during downtime.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with all Massachusetts state cannabis regulations and company compliance standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and a positive attitude while fostering strong team relationships.
  • Work efficiently in a team environment, multitask, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Take ownership of tasks, show initiative, and maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot plant health or product issues with attention to detail.
  • Adapt to changes in policies, procedures, and cultivation techniques as needed.
  • Management reserves the right to modify, add, or remove job duties at any time, with or without prior notice, in accordance with business needs. Employees may also be required to perform additional job-related tasks not specifically outlined in this job description, including special projects or assignments requested by their direct manager.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of cultivation, horticulture, or agriculture.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • 1+ years of experience growing live goods. (preferred)
  • Experience with a large-scale, indoor grow operation. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with growing techniques such as germination, cloning, and transplantation.
  • Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including the mandates of the local cannabis control commission. A job offer issued before the completion of a background check shall be contingent upon a positive result. A negative background check result may lead to the withdrawal of the job offer.
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally work a flexible schedule as the business needs demand, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds and repeatedly carry 15–20 pounds across the warehouse or greenhouse.
  • Ability to maneuver between growing tables spaced 24 inches apart.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as kneeling, stooping, bending, and twisting in confined spaces.
