Cannabis Extraction Laboratory Technician

Header: Duties

• Support the laboratory processes such as closed-loop extraction systems, rotary evaporators, and distillation units in accordance with manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Handle solvents safely, adhering strictly to chemical agent handling protocols and safety data sheets (SDS).
• Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance throughout the extraction process.
• Routinely and compliantly dispose of cannabis waste.
• Ensure product is worked into it's final form and prepared for testing.
• Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, including batch records, incident reports, and equipment logs in compliance with Cannabis regulatory standards.
• Conduct routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow safety protocols diligently by utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), respiratory protection devices, and following industrial chemical handling procedures to safeguard health and safety.

Header: Skills

• Knowledge of Cannabis regulatory compliance standards such as GMP, CGMP, and related legal requirements for cannabis product manufacturing.
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting extraction machinery and performing basic repairs or adjustments.
• Experience with laboratory procedures including chemical agent handling, material handling, and packaging processes.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements, dilutions, and quality control testing.
• Familiarity with industrial solvent based manufacturing environments and safety protocols related to chemical storage and disposal.
• Prior experience in cannabis extraction laboratories is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail for documentation accuracy and adherence to manufacturing SOPs.
• Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence, including PPE usage and respiratory protection measures.
