Canvas and PVC fabrictor

Johnson & Couzins, New Zealand’s leaders in outdoor shade solutions, are looking for a skilled Canvas & PVC Fabricator to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone with experience in canvas and PVC fabrication – and would equally suit an automotive upholsterer looking to transfer their skills into a varied and rewarding industry.

About the Role

You’ll be working in our Christchurch workshop, creating and assembling custom-made outdoor products including awnings, outdoor blinds, and other high-quality shade solutions. You’ll take projects from raw material to finished product, working with precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and cut canvas and PVC products to specification
• Operate industrial sewing machines and welding equipment
• Read and interpret job sheets, drawings, and measurements
• Work closely with our design team to ensure a perfect fit and finish
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in canvas/PVC fabrication OR automotive upholstery
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
