In this role, you will manage a team of canvassers conducting face-to-face engagement, door-to-door outreach, and community-based activities to promote our mission and initiatives.

The Canvass Manager will be responsible for developing team performance, coordinating daily field operations, assigning territories, providing coaching and training, and ensuring outreach goals are consistently achieved. This position requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and people-management skills, along with the ability to work effectively in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven leader who enjoys working directly with people, building strong teams, and making a meaningful impact through community engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and motivate a team of canvassers to consistently achieve daily, weekly, and monthly outreach goals.
  • Plan and coordinate daily field operations, including schedules, team assignments, territories, and outreach activities.
  • Monitor team performance in real time and provide coaching, guidance, and support to improve productivity and results.
  • Recruit, train, onboard, and develop canvassers in effective outreach techniques, communication strategies, and community engagement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • Ensure team members follow company policies, procedures, safety standards, and professional conduct expectations while working in the field.
  • Provide leadership and support during door-to-door outreach, community events, and other field-based activities.
  • Address questions, concerns, and challenges that arise in the field and provide effective solutions.
  • Track team performance and outreach activity using mobile devices and field management tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of team activity, performance, attendance, and outreach results.
  • Communicate daily and weekly performance updates, challenges, and accomplishments to management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community members while representing the organization professionally and respectfully.
  • Identify opportunities to improve canvassing strategies, team efficiency, and overall outreach performance.
  • Help create a positive, energetic, and accountable team culture focused on achieving results.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven management, supervisory, or team leadership experience with the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop employees.
  • Experience in field marketing, sales, fundraising, community outreach, customer service, or a related industry.
  • Strong face-to-face communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
  • Previous experience with door-to-door canvassing, field sales, fundraising, or telemarketing is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals, monitor performance, and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, conversational, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, particularly for engaging with multilingual communities.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and walking for extended periods during field outreach activities.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, and other technology for data collection, communication, and reporting.
  • Previous community engagement experience and a passion for connecting with people face-to-face.
  • Ability to work independently while also providing strong leadership and direction to a team.
