Canvasser (Construction & Mining Industry)

Summary Role:

Canvasser is responsible for sourcing and procuring construction and mining materials, equipment, spare parts, PPE, supplies, and services at the best cost, quality, and delivery terms. The position ensures timely procurement and delivery to offices, warehouses, project sites, and mine sites while complying with company procurement policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, equipment, spare parts, PPE, consumables, and services based on approved requirements
• Canvass suppliers, compare quotations, negotiate prices and terms, and prepare Purchase Orders
• Monitor orders and ensure timely, complete, and accurate delivery of materials and services
• Expedite critical or urgent purchases needed to prevent operational or project delays
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain reliable suppliers for construction and mining requirements
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing, quality, lead times, and delivery reliability
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding quotations, orders, deliveries, and procurement concerns
• Coordinate with Operations, Construction, Mining, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to determine procurement requirements
• Maintain accurate records of purchase requests, quotations, canvass sheets, Purchase Orders, deliveries, and supplier information
• Ensure purchases meet required specifications, quality, safety, budget, and delivery requirements
