Capital Projects Manager

We are recruiting a Capital Projects Manager for a chemical manufacturing plant in Channelview, TX. The hiring manager is looking to move quickly and is focused on experienced candidates already located in the Houston area.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will lead capital improvement and debottlenecking projects from initial scope through implementation and closeout. This is a hands-on plant role requiring strong coordination across engineering, operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital and debottlenecking projects throughout the full project lifecycle
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, Process Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance
• Manage contractor bids, contracts, project costs, and invoice review
• Support plant turnarounds and major capital work
• Track schedules, budgets, deliverables, and project progress
• Manage day-to-day contractor needs while keeping projects moving safely and efficiently

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required
• Extensive experience managing capital projects in chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing plant environments
• Strong background in debottlenecking, project engineering, cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and project execution
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, bids, contracts, and project costs
• Experience supporting plant turnarounds or major capital projects
• Strong cross-functional leadership and project coordination skills
• PMP or similar project management certification preferred
• Must be located in or readily commutable to the Houston/Channelview area
• Travel is less than 10%
