Description

CKC.fund is seeking an experienced and highly driven professional to lead our capital-raising initiatives across Canada. As the Canada Lead, you will play a central role in securing investment capital to support the growth of our crypto hedge fund and expand its presence in the Canadian market.

You will be responsible for developing relationships with prospective investors, facilitating capital introductions, managing the fundraising pipeline, and executing strategic initiatives designed to position the fund for long-term success in Canada.

Join our pioneering fund and help shape the future of digital asset investing. This is a flexible, part-time or contract opportunity with the potential to evolve into a full-time position. Compensation may include equity, profit sharing, and/or deferred salary. No traditional base salary is currently offered. This opportunity is best suited to an entrepreneurial professional who wants to help build an emerging investment platform and participate in its long-term growth.

Responsibilities****Capital Introductions

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of prospective investors across Canada, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, wealth-management firms, portfolio managers, registered dealers, exempt market dealers, and investment banks.
  • Leverage existing relationships to facilitate introductions and establish trusted relationships with investors and key decision-makers.
  • Identify new investor channels, strategic partners, and distribution opportunities within the Canadian market.

Private Capital Markets

  • Monitor developments and trends in Canadian private capital markets, particularly within the digital asset, cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, and alternative-investment sectors.
  • Identify fundraising opportunities and adapt the fund’s capital-raising strategy to changes in investor demand and market conditions.
  • Provide insight into the priorities, concerns, and allocation criteria of Canadian investors.

Distribution and Investor Materials

  • Collaborate with the investment team to develop compelling marketing materials, investment presentations, due-diligence materials, and investor communications.
  • Clearly communicate the fund’s investment strategy, performance history, risk-management approach, and value proposition to prospective investors.
  • Help tailor materials and messaging to the needs of different Canadian investor segments.

Investor Relations and Sales

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective Canadian investors throughout the capital-raising process.
  • Lead investor meetings and presentations, respond to questions, and provide accurate and timely information to support investment decisions.
  • Maintain disciplined follow-up and pipeline-management processes from initial introduction through onboarding.
  • Build long-term relationships with investors beyond the initial allocation.

Institutional Capital Raising

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive institutional capital-raising strategy for Canada.
  • Cultivate relationships with institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, asset managers, fund-of-funds, and other relevant organizations.
  • Identify institutional mandates and allocation opportunities that align with the fund’s strategy and stage of development.

Due Diligence and Compliance Coordination

  • Coordinate the due-diligence process for prospective investors.
  • Work closely with legal, compliance, fund-administration, and investment teams to ensure that investor communications and onboarding activities comply with applicable Canadian securities laws, registration requirements, and fund policies.
  • Maintain appropriate records of investor communications, materials, and fundraising activities.

Reporting and Pipeline Management

  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare regular reports on capital-raising activity, investor engagement, fundraising pipeline, and progress against targets.
  • Maintain accurate investor and relationship-management records.
  • Provide timely updates, market feedback, and strategic recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.

Team Development

  • Help build and lead a high-performing Canadian capital-raising and investor-relations function as the fund grows.
  • Recruit, guide, and mentor team members and external partners where appropriate.
  • Establish clear goals, processes, and accountability across fundraising activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant professional designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success raising capital within financial services, asset management, alternative investments, private markets, or a related field.
  • Experience within the cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, or digital asset sector is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian private capital markets and the Canadian investment-management landscape.
  • An established network of high-net-worth individuals, family offices, wealth-management firms, portfolio managers, registered dealers, investment banks, institutional investors, or other capital allocators in Canada.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex investment strategies, risks, and market concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance considerations associated with marketing investment funds and raising capital in Canada.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify market opportunities and turn relationships into measurable fundraising progress.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage a sophisticated investor pipeline.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to build, motivate, and support a growing team.
