Captain (Head Waiter)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and professional Captain to supervise and lead the service team during catering events. The Head Waiter will ensure smooth food and beverage service, maintain high service standards, coordinate with the kitchen and event management team, and ensure guests receive excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead waiters and service staff during catering events.
• Assign duties and service sections to waiters according to event requirements.
• Ensure tables, buffet stations, serving areas, and dining areas are properly set up before the event.
• Coordinate with the kitchen regarding food service, replenishment, and special guest requirements.
• Monitor food and beverage service throughout the event.
• Ensure professional and courteous service to all guests.
• Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain proper serving, clearing, and table-setting standards.
• Brief the service team before every event regarding menu, timing, guest requirements, and responsibilities.
• Coordinate with the Catering Manager and event team for smooth event operations.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and discipline.
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the event.
• Monitor the availability of crockery, cutlery, glassware, napkins, and other service items.
• Assist in managing VIP guests and special functions when required.
• Supervise closing procedures, including clearing tables and returning service equipment.
• Report any service issues, damages, shortages, or guest complaints to management.
• Ensure company policies and catering service standards are followed.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Waiter, Captain, Senior Waiter, or similar role in catering, restaurants, hotels, or banquet operations.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Professional appearance and excellent personal grooming.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy events.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays according to event schedules.
• Good knowledge of table setup, buffet service, and event service procedures.
• Basic English communication skills preferred.

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs70,000.00 per month
