About Trosnant

Trosnant is a small, friendly 12-bed residential care home in Ruthin. We are looking for a caring, reliable and hardworking Care Assistant to join our team.

As a smaller home, we want our staff to really get to know the people who live here. Our focus is on providing safe, respectful and person-centred care while supporting residents to remain as independent as possible.

The Role

As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with their day-to-day needs in accordance with their individual care plans.

Your duties will include:

• Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting
• Supporting residents with mobility and transfers safely
• Assisting residents at mealtimes and with food and fluids where required
• Providing companionship and taking time to talk and engage with residents
• Supporting residents to maintain their independence and make their own choices
• Completing accurate daily care records using Log My Care
• Observing residents' wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns
• Supporting with medication administration where trained and competent
• Responding appropriately to falls, incidents or emergencies
• Maintaining residents' dignity, privacy and confidentiality
• Supporting activities and helping create a welcoming and homely environment
• Working closely with colleagues, families and other professionals
• Following safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety and fire procedures
• Carrying out reasonable domestic duties as part of maintaining a clean and comfortable home

What We Are Looking For

• Caring, patient and respectful
• Reliable and able to work as part of a small team
• Confident communicating with older people
• Able to recognise and report changes in a resident's needs
• Willing to complete all required training
• Comfortable using electronic care-recording systems
• Committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care

Previous experience in a care home is desirable, although we will consider applicants with the right values and attitude who are willing to learn.

Applicants will be required to complete the appropriate DBS checks and meet the registration requirements applicable to the role in Wales.
