Care Assistant (Night Shift)

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team for the Night Shift. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to residents in a care home setting or through home care services. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of individuals during overnight hours. Previous experience in care environments is advantageous, and excellent communication skills are essential to foster trust and understanding with residents and their families.

Duties

• Assist residents with personal care routines such as washing, dressing, and mobility during night hours
• Monitor residents’ health and well-being throughout the shift, noting any changes or concerns
• Support residents in adhering to personalised care plans, ensuring their needs are met effectively
• Administer medication as directed and maintain accurate records in compliance with policies
• Respond promptly to call bells or emergencies, providing reassurance and appropriate assistance
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents at all times
• Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families to ensure seamless care delivery
• Document relevant information accurately using IT systems and care documentation tools

Requirements

• Experience working within a care home or providing home care services is preferred
• Knowledge of care plans and procedures related to personal care and medication administration
• Proficiency in basic IT skills for documentation purposes
• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills to engage empathetically with residents and colleagues
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently during night shifts
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals during overnight hours

Pay: From £12.96 per hour
