VOLUNTEERS WANTED – COME AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH DIRECT STEPS!

Do you enjoy gardening, crafts, creativity or working with people?
Would you like to share your skills and help make someone’s day a little brighter?

Direct Steps CIC is looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our team at both of our local sites:

Direct Steps Woodcraft – Wingate
Help us with our working garden, planting, growing, maintaining the outdoor space and enjoying the benefits of being outdoors.

Direct Steps Day Centre – Haswell
Get involved with arts and crafts, creative activities, cooking activities, gardening, community activities and spending time with our service users.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience or a real interest in:

Gardening and growing
Arts & crafts
Plants and outdoor projects
Knitting, sewing or other crafts
Painting and creative activities
Cooking or baking
Outdoor activities and practical projects

You don't have to be an expert — enthusiasm, patience and a willingness to get involved are just as important!

Our volunteers help us provide meaningful activities, encourage independence, build confidence and create opportunities for people to learn, socialise and have fun.

What we're looking for:

✔ Friendly and approachable people
✔ Patient and understanding
✔ Reliable and willing to get involved
✔ Someone who enjoys working with adults with learning disabilities
✔ People who have a skill, hobby or interest they'd like to share
✔ Gardening or craft experience would be a bonus
