Caregiver

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, demonstrating empathy and respect while ensuring safety and comfort.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
• Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and assist with meal planning.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space.
• Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans.
• Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or developmental disabilities.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.

Requirements

• Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs, including autism.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs.
• Understanding of caregiving principles, including meal preparation and medication administration.
• A compassionate approach toward providing care for seniors or individuals requiring hospice services. Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
