Responsibilities

• Monitor residents throughout the day /night, ensuring their safety and comfort while responding promptly to their needs.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including toileting, bathing, dressing, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Conduct regular checks of residents’ vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to monitor health status.
• Manage behavioral challenges and dementia-related symptoms with patience and effective behavior management techniques.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
• Document incidents, resident observations, and shift reports thoroughly to ensure seamless communication with daytime staff and healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is essential but training can be provided.
• Certification or training in first aid and CPR ; additional certifications such as medication administration or EMR systems familiarity are advantageous but training can be provided.
• Ability to work overnight shifts consistently while maintaining high levels of energy and attentiveness.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage residents compassionately and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Experience operating mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers is desirable.
