Position Overview

GentleHands Home Care is looking for compassionate, dependable, and motivated On Call Caregivers to provide high quality, person centered care to clients in their homes throughout Vacaville, California.

This position is ideal for caregivers who value flexibility and are available to accept shifts based on client needs. Our caregivers help clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life while receiving care in the familiar surroundings of their own homes.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Active Home Care Aide (HCA) ID or PER ID listed on the California Home Care Aide Registry
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Reliable personal vehicle with current auto insurance
• Negative TB test completed within the last 90 days
• Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist clients weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability and willingness to travel to client homes throughout Vacaville, CA
• Spanish speaking skills are preferred to support Spanish speaking clients and families

Key Responsibilities

As an On Call Caregiver, you will provide compassionate support while helping clients remain safe and comfortable at home. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Providing mobility assistance, transfers, and other physical support as needed
• Encouraging client independence while maintaining dignity and respect
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding while supporting proper nutrition and hydration
• Providing companionship, emotional support, and meaningful social interaction
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Providing medication reminders in accordance with agency policies and the client’s care plan
• Observing and reporting changes in the client’s condition, behavior, or care needs
• Completing accurate care documentation and required service records
• Following agency safety procedures, infection control practices, and emergency protocols
• Communicating professionally with supervisors, care coordinators, clients, and family members
