About the role

Kamo Home and Village Charitable Trust is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team at either Kamo Home and Village, or Shalom Aged Care. There are various positions available, offering flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of the elderly. As a Caregiver, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to our residents and service users. Your role is vital in fostering a warm, inclusive and dignified environment where individuals can thrive and maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

1. Providing personal care support including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting
2. Supporting residents, ensuring adherence to care plans
3. Assisting with mobility and movement, including transferring, walking and positioning to maintain comfort and safety
4. Serving nutritious meals and beverages, accommodating dietary requirements and preferences
5. Maintaining clean and safe living environments, including housekeeping and laundry duties
6. Providing companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in meaningful activities and conversation
7. Monitoring residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff
8. Responding to call bells and requests promptly and professionally
9. Maintaining accurate care records and documentation as required
10. Supporting the maintenance of a person-centred approach to care, respecting individual preferences and dignity

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience in aged care, disability support or similar caregiving roles is highly desirable

2. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable and elderly people with empathy and compassion

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships

4. Physical capability to assist with personal care and mobility support safely

5. Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team

6. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting individual privacy and dignity

7. Willingness to complete relevant training

8. Police vetting and reference checks will be required
