Caregiver/Direct Support Provider

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
• Support individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities through personalized care plans and behavior management strategies
• Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
• Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry
• Follow resident’s rights policies to promote dignity, respect, and autonomy at all times
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care

Experience

• Prior assisted living or long-term care experience preferred, especially in residential or home & community care settings
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
• Knowledge of geriatrics, senior care practices, and safe patient lifting techniques is highly valued
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like medication administration or behavior management are advantageous
• Familiarity with resident rights policies and group home operations enhances your ability to provide comprehensive support
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate standard passenger vehicles when needed for client transportation
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
