Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional support to residents in a senior living community. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
• Administer medications following prescribed instructions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. (if applicable)
• Monitor vital signs, observe changes in health status, and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff or supervisors.
• Support residents with activities of daily living, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation and records using Electronic Health Record while respecting patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow all safety procedures related to manual handling, heavy lifting, and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs, including those requiring Alzheimer’s or dementia care, hospice support, or specialized memory care.

Skills

• Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
• Ability to work with geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
• Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to connect empathetically with residents and team members.
• Understanding of state healthcare regulations, senior care standards, and resident personal care assistance protocols.
• Capable of performing heavy lifting when necessary and maintaining physical stamina for long shifts involving manual handling tasks.
