Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and personalized care to individuals in various living environments. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately in care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to ensure proper nutrition.
• Support clients with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols.
• Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings using safe driving practices and ensuring client safety at all times.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and ensuring infection control standards are met.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism spectrum disorder, or other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Skills

• Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or dementia.
• Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in condition or behavior promptly.
• Knowledge of assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health care, hospice care, and long-term care environments.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when required.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques like vital signs measurement and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience working within HIPAA guidelines to protect client privacy and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
• Competence in meal preparation, personal transportation assistance, and supporting residents’ emotional needs.
