Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote comfort and independence
• Support patients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety for both client and caregiver
• Administer medications accurately following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and compliance
• Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions closely to identify changes that require medical attention or intervention
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote health and well-being
• Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and respecting residents’ rights in all interactions
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
• Support clients during community outings or appointments using personal transportation assistance while ensuring safety at all times
• Document care activities thoroughly in accordance with agency protocols and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status or concerns

Experience

Candidates should possess prior experience working in caregiving roles within group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and geriatrics enhances your ability to deliver specialized support. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in manual handling, patient monitoring, medication administration, HIPAA compliance, and resident’s rights is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques is essential. A background in developing personalized care plans and experience supporting clients with developmental disabilities will set you apart. Strong communication skills for client interaction and teamwork are crucial for success in this rewarding role.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
