Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various living environments. Duties

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods
• Provide medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy
• Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; observe and report changes in health status or behavior promptly
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote healthy eating habits
• Support patients with cognitive impairments like dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care strategies and ensuring a safe environment
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning tasks; assist with laundry and household chores as needed
• Offer transportation assistance for appointments or community outings; support clients in maintaining social connections and engaging in recreational activities
• Document care activities accurately in client records; communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient progress or concerns
• Ensure residents’ rights are upheld by respecting autonomy, privacy, and dignity at all times; support the implementation of individualized care plans

Experience

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and respond appropriately to their needs; experience with patient monitoring is essential
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient confidentiality and privacy standards
• Hands-on experience with medication administration, vital signs measurement, CPR certification, first aid skills, and manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts is required
• Background working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities is advantageous
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques including memory support strategies and resident’s rights advocacy
• Experience supporting seniors or those requiring long-term care across diverse settings such as hospice or home & community care environments is valuable
