What they need

Make a profound difference—mind and spirit. As a CareNet Counselor, you’ll provide high‑quality, spiritually integrated psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups within your assigned CareNet Counseling region. You’ll meet clients where they are—whether in person or via telehealth—and may practice across a variety of settings, including integrated clinical locations. Guided by the ethical codes of your licensure board, you’ll help clients clarify goals, build resilience, and move toward meaningful, desired outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver spiritually integrated counseling and psychotherapy, along with consultation and education services, at a consistently high clinical standard.
  • Conduct comprehensive intakes: collect full client data, establish clear written therapeutic contracts, and collaborate with clients to identify and secure desired outcomes.
  • Formulate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients.
  • Build and maintain a robust clinical caseload aligned with annual service and income goals; cultivate and sustain a strong referral network to support access to care.
  • Partner with administrative staff to ensure accurate insurance and payment information; collect client payments per center practices and initiate corrective action on delinquent accounts.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records that clearly document client progress and outcomes.
  • Contribute to departmental effectiveness: actively participate in team meetings, staff development, and case reviews; represent and promote the department in the community.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth: maintain current memberships in relevant professional organizations and participate in continuing education aligned with a personal development plan.
  • Seek supervision and/or consultation to enhance professional effectiveness and quality of care.
  • Initiate collaborative working relationships with community professionals and disciplines; add new skills, licensures, or certifications that enhance functioning and client outcomes.
  • Uphold and model the ethical codes of the profession and applicable licensing organizations in all aspects of practice.

Education & Licensure Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical counseling experience.
  • Active professional behavioral health licensure in North Carolina required.
  • LCSW, LCMHC, or LMFT, preferred.
  • LCSW-A, LCMHC-A, or LMFT-A accepted.
