Hours: 24 – 42 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 12 or 6 hour shifts (8am-8pm, 8am-2pm, 2pm-8pm) Weekend availability is essential.

We're looking for a Care Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at Ridgecourt Residential Care Home.

About Ridgecourt

Ridgecourt is a friendly, welcoming 15-bed residential care home providing care and support to older people, including those living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease and physical disabilities.

As a smaller home, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, homely environment where our residents feel safe, comfortable, valued and respected.

Our team works closely together to provide the highest standard of care, whilst ensuring that every resident is treated as an individual.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Day Care Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our residents with their daily routines and helping them enjoy a comfortable, fulfilling and independent life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and other daily needs.
• Encouraging independence, dignity and choice in everything you do.
• Building positive, caring relationships with residents and their families.
• Supporting residents with meals, drinks and maintaining good nutrition and hydration.
• Helping residents with mobility, repositioning and moving safely, in line with their care plans and training.
• Encouraging participation in activities, social interaction and everyday life within the home.
• Monitoring residents' wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to senior colleagues.
• Completing daily care records accurately and maintaining good communication with the wider team.
• Helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Most importantly, you'll help make Ridgecourt a happy, comfortable and caring place for our residents to call home.

• Available to work weekends as part of their regular rota – this is essential.

Previous care experience or qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 2 or Care Certificate, would be an advantage, but are not essential. We welcome applications from people who are new to care and have the right attitude, as full training and support will be provided.

Working Hours

This is a day-shift position offering between 24 and 42 hours per week, depending on your availability and the needs of the home.

You will be required to work weekends as part of your regular rota, and enhanced rates of pay apply to weekend shifts.
