Responsibilities

• Safely operate a cargo van to deliver goods across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload cargo using manual lifting techniques and pallet jacks when necessary, ensuring items are secure for transit.
• Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery schedules to meet deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
• Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock within the facility, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning of the vehicle’s manual transmission and safety features.
• Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and mileage for operational records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with a focus on route driving in a commercial setting.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating a box truck or similar vehicle preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items regularly and perform moving tasks safely; experience with heavy lifting is a plus.
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts; certification is advantageous.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations related to commercial driving.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and responsibly.
