Carlog IT Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Carlog IT Specialist to be based in Somalia to manage and support Carlog fleet management systems and related transport applications. The role will focus on Power BI reporting, vehicle and driver data management, GPS tracking, UN driving permit systems, application support, system administration, and technical troubleshooting, while ensuring accurate reporting and reliable system operations.

Roles & Responsibility

• Generating reports from Power Bi on Daily, Weekly and Monthly basis and, as and when required by Management.
• Generating Reports from Carlog Server on various metrics such as driver performance, vehicle usage, fuel consumption, etc. on Daily, Weekly and Monthly basis and, as and when required by Management.
• Effective Provisioning, configuring, operating, and maintaining the hardware and software components of Carlog system, assisting technicians in Installing Carlog equipment’s, Configuring Vehicles on Carlog Server.
• Printing and Activating UN driving permits for authorized drivers and assigning them to the corresponding vehicles, digitizing driver and vehicle information on Carlog Server.
• Assigning vehicles to different units or locations in the system based on inputs from superiors.
• Tracking the vehicles status such as operational, under maintenance, accident/incident, etc. in the system.
• Generating and reviewing reports on vehicles data such as inventory, utilization, expenses, etc. in the system.
• Providing technical support to resolve issues related to Carlog and vehicle access.
• Monitoring Driver Behaviour and vehicle performance & location using GPS and Carlog tracking devices.
• Creating, maintaining, and updating technical documentation, user guides, and other relevant documents as needed.
• Defining the data sources and data models that will provide the necessary data for the analysis.
• Designing the layout and visualizations of the report using best practices and user feedback to ensure clarity and usability.
• Implementing the report logic and calculations using tools such as Power BI or Excel to perform the data manipulation and transformation.
• Testing and validating the report accuracy and functionality by checking for errors, inconsistencies, or anomalies in the data and the output.
• Publishing and sharing the report with the intended audience and stakeholders using appropriate channels and formats.
• Define the data sources and data models that will support the analysis.
• Design the layout and visualizations of the report using best practices and user feedback.
• Implement the report logic and calculations using tools such as Power BI, or Excel.
• Test and validate the report accuracy and functionality.
• Managing Vehicles data in UMOJA system.
• Working in compliance with department safety and quality standards to uphold organizational reputation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma in Computer Technology
• B.Sc. IT
• Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)
• Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
