C&W is now hiring Carmen!

Duties: Responsible for rail car inspections in compliance with FRA and AAR regulations for a Class III short line railway. Will repair and re-rail cars, estimate damages at derailment sites, prepare repair cards in compliance with the AAR Field/Office Manual, and identify AAR/FRA defects when present on railcars.

Specific essential duties include:

* Use cutting torch in all positions without damage to adjoining parts.

*Complete 3G welding qualification test for arc welding.

* Ensure that all federal requirements and company guidelines are met and that all safety rules are followed when performing duties.

* Comply with FRA and AAR rules when making car repairs.

* Keep good records of repairs made.

* Operate mobile crane and wheel truck

* Operate forklift

* Work closely with other departments at derailment sites

Skills: Required:

*12 months of job-related experience or equivalent (see essential duties above) of education and experience which include:

*12 Months Cutting Torch

*12 months of arc and MIG welding- will have to pass a test

*Education: a high school diploma or GED.

*Other Requirements: Be able to meet all physical requirements of the position, including climbing ladders, bending, squatting, kneeling, and crawling under rail cars 35% of the time, and exert up to 75 lbs of force regularly and up to 100 Lbs of force frequently.
