Carpenter’s Assistant – Property Restoration & Maintenance

Position: Carpenter’s Assistant

A local property restoration and maintenance company is seeking a dependable and hardworking Carpenter’s Assistantto work directly alongside the Lead Carpenter.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working in residential and light commercial environments and wants to continue developing their construction and carpentry skills. The Carpenter’s Assistant will support the Lead Carpenter with repairs, remodeling, installations, demolition, cleanup, material handling, and general jobsite responsibilities.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Lead Carpenter with day-to-day construction, repair, and remodeling projects
• Measure, cut, carry, and prepare materials as directed
• Assist with framing, drywall, trim, flooring, doors, cabinets, and other carpentry-related work
• Support demolition and removal of damaged or outdated materials
• Help with property restoration and repair projects
• Load, unload, organize, and transport tools and materials
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite
• Set up and break down tools, ladders, equipment, and work areas
• Assist with minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
• Follow instructions from the Lead Carpenter and project supervisors
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly
• Help protect customer property and maintain a professional appearance at jobsites
• Communicate any safety concerns, damaged materials, or jobsite issues to the Lead Carpenter
• Assist with additional construction and maintenance duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous construction, carpentry, remodeling, maintenance, or general labor experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools preferred
• Willingness to learn and take direction from an experienced Lead Carpenter
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Ability to perform physical labor throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment
• Comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in different jobsite environments
• Must be professional and respectful while working inside customer homes and properties
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliable transportation required
• Must successfully pass a drug screening
• Must successfully pass a background check

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and takes pride in doing quality work. This person should be comfortable working alongside an experienced carpenter, following directions, and helping complete projects correctly and efficiently.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
