What they need
CCPM is looking for an experienced Carpenter / Assistant Foreman to join our construction team in Dublin.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced carpenter who is confident on the tools but is also interested in taking on greater responsibility for the organisation and supervision of construction projects.
This is a hands-on position and would suit an experienced carpenter looking to progress towards a Site Foreman / Site Manager role.
The Role
The successful candidate will continue to carry out carpentry and general construction works while also assisting with the day-to-day supervision and organisation of our sites.
Responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out first-fix, second-fix and general carpentry works.
- Assisting the Site Foreman and Project Manager with daily site operations.
- Supervising small groups of operatives and subcontractors.
- Coordinating day-to-day site activities.
- Reading and working from architectural and construction drawings.
- Monitoring workmanship and quality.
- Identifying defects or issues before work progresses.
- Organising materials, plant and deliveries.
- Assisting with the sequencing of works.
- Monitoring site safety, housekeeping and access.
- Reporting progress and upcoming requirements to the Project Manager.
- Assisting with snagging and completion works.
- Taking responsibility for areas of the site when required.
- Opening or closing the site when required and once suitably experienced.
The role will initially remain predominantly hands-on, with supervisory responsibility increasing as the successful candidate develops within the company.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised carpentry qualification.
- At least 5 years' relevant construction experience.
- Strong first-fix and second-fix carpentry experience.
- Good general construction knowledge.
- Experience working on residential construction projects.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- High standards of workmanship.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to coordinate other trades and operatives.
- A practical and proactive approach to solving problems.
- Good communication skills.
- An interest in progressing into a Foreman / Site Management position.
- Full driving licence.
- Full set of tools.
Previous supervisory or foreman experience would be an advantage but is not essential where the candidate has the right experience and attitude.
What We Offer
- €250–€300 per day depending on experience.
- Full-time employment.
- Varied residential and mixed-use construction projects.
- Opportunity to remain hands-on while developing supervisory experience.
- Increasing site responsibility for the right candidate.
- Clear opportunity to progress into a Site Foreman role.
- Long-term position within a growing construction company.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can take responsibility and is interested in developing beyond a traditional carpentry role.
Pay: €250.00-€300.00 per day
