About the role

Allwood Building Services Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Roma, Queensland. We do a wide range of projects including many rewarding renovation projects, along with other residential, industrial and rural projects. We also carry out a large scale of Queensland Government Projects and Insurance Works for the Southwest Region.

Carpenter role can be negotiated as either Full Time or Casual. We offer flexible work arrangements to suit your needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out carpentry works across residential building, renovation and construction projects

• Completing framing, cladding, flooring, decking, fix-outs and general carpentry tasks

• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications

• Measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber and building materials

• Undertaking repairs, maintenance and insurance building works

• Working independently and as part of a team on-site

• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within project timeframes

• Safely operating hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment

• Maintaining clean, organised and safe work areas

• Following workplace health and safety requirements at all times

• Communicating with supervisors, clients, subcontractors and other trades

• Assisting with material ordering, site preparation and job planning where required

What We’re Looking For

• Trade-qualified carpenter

• Reliable, punctual and committed to quality workmanship

• Strong knowledge of residential building and carpentry practices

• Ability to read and interpret plans

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks on-site

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Good communication skills

• Team player who is willing to support apprentices and other staff

• Current driver’s licence

• Construction White Card

• Own tools preferred

• Experience in renovations, insurance repairs, maintenance or residential construction would be highly regarded

• Based in or willing to work in the Roma area

Additional requirements:

Must have;

• Driver's Licence
• Construction White Card
• Working at Heights (WAH) or ability to obtain

Other desirables but not compulsory;

• Working with Children Blue Card (for Government Projects)
• Skid Steer and Excavator Ticket, EWP
• LR or MR Vehicle Driver Licence
