Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our Facility Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out carpentry works, maintenance, repairs, and installation of wooden fixtures and fittings in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. The candidate should ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain gypsum board partitions, false ceilings, bulkheads, and decorative ceiling features.
• Perform jointing, taping, putty application, sanding, and finishing of gypsum surfaces to a high standard.
• Install, repair, and maintain wooden doors, door frames, cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, skirting, architraves, and partitions.
• Carry out repairs and replacement of damaged wooden furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
• Install and repair wooden flooring, wall panels, laminate finishes, and other woodwork.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install gypsum boards, timber, plywood, MDF, laminates, and related materials.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and work orders accurately.
• Install and replace door hardware including locks, hinges, handles, door closers, and accessories.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of gypsum and wooden structures across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.
• Identify defects, assess repair requirements, and recommend suitable maintenance solutions.
• Operate carpentry and gypsum installation tools, power tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other maintenance technicians to complete assigned work orders within the required timeframe.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area after completing maintenance activities.
• Follow company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Report material shortages, equipment defects, and safety hazards to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 years of experience in gypsum and carpentry works, preferably within the Facility Management or Building Maintenance industry.
• Strong knowledge of gypsum partitions, false ceilings, wooden joinery, furniture repairs, and interior fit-out works.
• Experience working with gypsum boards, metal framing systems, timber, plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, and hardware accessories.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and perform accurate measurements.
• Skilled in the safe use of carpentry and gypsum installation tools and equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights and in different site conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, or facility management projects.
• Basic knowledge of painting and finishing works is an added advantage.
