About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join the GB MARINE GROUP team in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position as Carpenter that plays a vital role in our carpentry and installing operations. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence within the marine industry.

Key responsibilities

1. Read Drawing to determine dimensions of furnishings in boat
2. Cut Wood, glass or other material (e.g. Fiberglass) to specify dimensions using hand tools and power tools.
3. Construct floors, doors and partitions using wood working machines, hand tools and power tools.
4. Assembles and installs hardware, gasket, floors, furnishings or installation using adhesive hand tools and power tools.
5. Wok with building principals and supervisor to complete projects.

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Carpenter or Cabinet Maker, preferably within the marine or maritime industry
2. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
4. Strong understanding of wood types, materials, and finishing techniques
5. Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship
6. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy materials safely
7. Knowledge of health and safety practices in woodworking and construction
8. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
9. Valid certifications or qualifications in carpentry or a related trade are advantageous
